Over EPDM

EPDM rubber roof membranes hold up for decades but eventually shrink, lose plasticizers, and crack at seams. Tearing off and replacing is one option; restoring with a liquid-applied coating is a faster, lower-cost alternative that adds 10 to 20 years of waterproofing life.

For EPDM substrates, the GAF restore path is: clean and rinse with EPDM Activator primer, then apply the Premium Acrylic HydroStop fabric-embedded base coat, then HydroStop top coat. For EPDM roofs with ponding-water conditions, GAF High Solids Silicone is the warranted alternative (acrylic is not).
