Waterproofing Foundations
Foundation waterproofing handles the structural side of below-grade waterproofing: the exterior face of foundation walls in direct contact with backfill soil, groundwater, and the hydrostatic pressure that builds up against the building envelope. HydroStop BarrierGuard Waterproofing is the membrane built for this load case, mixed with water and Portland cement to cure into a hard-wearing, flexible compound that resists acid rain, chemical pollutants, and the constant moisture exposure of buried wall faces.
Embed HydroStop Fabric (100% polyester reinforcement) into the BarrierGuard layer for crack-bridging at cold joints, form-tie penetrations, and high-stress transitions where settlement movement is likely. For interior habitable basement waterproofing on the same wall, see Waterproofing Basements. For potable water containment, see Cistern Waterproofing. Broader category at Concrete Waterproofing. Factory-direct from a GAF-authorized distributor.
