Ceramic Tile Over Concrete Assembly

Ceramic tile over concrete needs a continuous waterproofing layer below the thinset to keep moisture out of the slab and prevent failures at grout lines, drains, and transitions. This assembly groups the four products that build that layer: Surface Seal SB Thermoplastic Rubber Coating as the seamless waterproof membrane, HydroStop Fabric (100% polyester) as the reinforcement at penetrations and seams, and FlexSeal Sealant Caulk plus FlexSeal Self-Leveling Sealant for transitions, drains, and detail work.
